RUY FERNANDO CARVALHO DA SILVA graduated in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in December 1972 and has practiced Law since then.

He began his legal career founding with ROBERTO PORTO FARINON the Law firm which later became FARINON, CARVALHO DA SILVA & Advogados Associados, where he remains to date.

For over a decade, Ruy Fernando practiced Law within a large-sized financial institution based in Porto Alegre, RS, having resigned as Head of the Legal Department in November 1993.
